چکیده

Volume transformations of medical images play an important role for many applications such as registration of di erent modalities mapping atlases onto clinical data or simulation of surgical procedures While registration and atlas mapping can for the major number of applications be performed without tight time constraints it is essential for simulation systems that they allow real time interaction As any computational method in volumes is usually very time consuming current approaches do mainly concentrate on surface manipulations instead of transforming the entire volume This paper describes an approach which overcomes this problem by rst de ning the volume manipulation on basis of surface models which ensure real time performance and in a second step the transformation is applied to the entire volume by interpolating the mapping parameters using scattered data interpolation methods

The Role of MRSI in Target Volume Definition for Radiation Therapy of Prostate Cancer

Introduction: Recently, magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI), as a functional imaging method, has been used for clinical target volume definition. In this study, we used this method to define the target volume in prostate radiotherapy. Material and Method: In this study, we used images of 20 prostate cancer cases. MRSI and MRI images were fused with CT images. Then, treatment plannin...

Considering a New Sample Unit Definition for Pavement Condition Index

One of the main components of pavement management system (PMS) is pavement evaluation. Several indices have been defined for the evaluation of existing pavement. The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) is a common index used for pavement evaluation. In order to calculate PCI, a significant volume of condition data -based on distress surveying- is required. The objective of this research is to reduce...

A cluster expansion approach to renormalization group transformations

The renormalization group (RG) approach is largely responsible for the considerable success which has been achieved in developing a quantitative theory of phase transitions. This work treats the rigorous definition of the RG map for classical Ising-type lattice systems. A cluster expansion is used to justify this definition in the infinite volume limit at high temperature.
